National Chemistry Week (NCW) 2011 Illustrated Poem Contest Winners

Fantastic Illustrated Poems Celebrate NCW 2011

Congratulations to the winners of the National Chemistry Week (NCW) 2011 Illustrated Poem Contest!

NCW is a community-based annual event that unites ACS local sections, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life; this year's NCW took place October 16-22, 2011.

As part of the NCW 2011 celebration, students from grades K-12 were invited to share their interpretation of this year's theme in the form of illustrated poems, “Chemistry—Our Health, Our Future!”

Winners at the local-section level qualified for the national contest; at the national level, first- and second-place prizes were awarded in four categories.

Thank you to all schools and local sections that participated!

To request a full-size version of an illustrated poem, please contact outreach@acs.org (be sure to specify which illustrated poem you are interested in).
