Dow Elastomers is a growth business within the Performance Plastics division. It currently generates more than 1.1 billion dollars of revenue annually with more than 650 customers worldwide.

Dow Elastomers is changing the way we do business, with differentiated products and science-based solutions. Working with Dow Elastomers opens a door to the world of chemistry and endless possibilities. Our products and technologies can help enhance recyclability, reduce processing costs, and even save fuel usage. We strive daily to discover ways to further technology and enhance human progress. We are developing products for key market segments and applications.

This project will include product and application development and technical support for the Dow Elastomers Business. The activities are related to the introduction, development, and support of all Elastomer product families—ENGAGETM, AFFINITYTM GA, INFUSETM, VERSIFYTM, and NORDELTM—that go into a variety of markets, including automotive, building and construction, health and hygiene, adhesives, footwear, housewares, appliances, rigid packaging, and recycling. These product families are converted using plastic and rubber processes such as compounding, vulcanization, extrusion, injection, thermoforming, and blow molding. The project will also include lab analysis, fabrication and interpretation of data along with communication of project results within the business.

Examples of tasks involved in this project include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing structure property relationships and relating them to customer requirements and fabrication methods
  • Pilot scale fabrication and laboratory testing
