Salary: $8,000-$10,000
(based on education level)

Additional Support: reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed


  • Current sophomore or junior
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5

Internship Description

Interns will develop a basic understanding of assigned operating area and complete various assignments with coaching from project mentors. Potential projects include:

  • Design and analysis of laboratory and field experiments
  • Statistical analysis of operating and quality data
  • Troubleshooting operating problems with operations and technical resources
  • Providing technical support for field or raw materials tests
  • Applying chemical engineering principles (material balances, fluid flow, thermodynamics, material science) in small project design

Engagement:  ability and willingness to actively commit to one’s role and to invest one’s time, talent, and best efforts to accomplish goals.

Leadership:  ability to use appropriate methods and interpersonal styles to develop, guide, and motivate an individual or  team toward successful outcomes and attainment of objectives (individuals that do not report to you)

Initiative:  ability to set high goals for personal and team accomplishment; using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goal attainment; tenaciously working to meet or exceed those goals while deriving satisfaction from the process of goal achievement and continuous improvement.
