ACS Roy W. Tess Award in Coatings
Sponsor: PMSE Division of the ACS
Purpose: The award recognizes outstanding contributions to coatings science, technology and engineering and recognizes significant noteworthy individual contributions to the coatings field.
Nature: The award consists of $3,000 and an ACS Award Plaque.
Eligibility: The “Roy W. Tess Coatings Award Fund” was established, owned and administered by the Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering Division (PMSE) of the American Chemical Society. The fund is used to finance an annual cash award, the costs of a plaque to be presented to the Awardee, and the appropriate incidental expenses. These expenses shall be financed from the earnings of the fund. The award was initially funded by a donation of approximately $12,000 by Dr. and Mrs. Roy W. Tess in 1984.
Deadline: Nominations for the specific award year must be submitted by September 1 of the previous year to the Chairman of the Roy W. Tess Award committee. The Awardee is then selected by an award committee.
