Fulbright Opportunities in 2015-16

Speakers from the Council for International Exchange of Scholars joined us to give listeners an introduction to the various opportunities within the Fulbright Scholars Program for sending American scholars abroad and bringing scholars from overseas to the United States.
Katrin DeWindt, Assistant Director, Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, Western Hemisphere & Sub-Saharan Africa
Katrin DeWindt is the Assistant Director for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program for the Western Hemisphere and Sub-Saharan Africa regions at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. Prior to joining the Fulbright Scholar Program, Katrin worked for the Foundation for the Future of Colombia (COLFUTURO) in Bogota, Colombia. Katrin has extensive experience managing international education programs with non-profit organizations and higher education institutions. She has extensive experience in Latin America having lived in the region for ten years.
Catherine Matto, Assistant Director, Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, South-Central Asia & East Asia Pacific
Catherine Johnston Matto is the Assistant Director for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar program in the South and Central Asia and East Asia and the Pacific regions at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), a division of the Institute of International Education (IIE). She joined the Fulbright Scholar Program in September 2009. Previously, Catherine worked closely with faculty and students to recruit for and administer professional graduate and doctoral degree programs at the George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration. A native Vermonter, Catherine’s interest in the region was sparked by a year in Mumbai, India as a Rotary International Youth Exchange student.
Carmel Geraghty, Program Officer, Projects Management, Fulbright Specialist Program
Carmel Geraghty is the Program Officer for the Fulbright Specialist Program, in the Global Program Unit at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), a division of the Institute of International Education (IIE) and has been with the Specialist Program since 2012. Prior to this, Carmel was Deputy Director for the Paul & Daisy Soros Foundation in New York City. She is originally from Dublin, Ireland and attended Trinity College Dublin.
