Diversity Abroad Scholarships

Diversity Abroad, in cooperation with AIFS offers ten 6-month scholarships annually to US undergraduates looking to complete studies internationally. Applicants must be U.S citizens or legal permanent residents who are full-time undergraduates at a university or community college based in the United States. They must be participating in a study abroad program offered by a partner organization.

Key Dates: Application deadline July 1 for the fall.

Each semester, AIFS offers up to 10 one-semester scholarships to undergraduate minority students looking to complete studies internationally. Applicants must demonstrate high interest in community service activities.

CAPA International Education offers a number of need and merit-based scholarships for students participating in their programs. Check the program website to see more details related to the scholarships that you may be eligible for.

Key Dates: Applications for all scholarships are due October 1, 2014 for the Spring 2015 semester.

AIFS International Scholarship is offered to 40 undergraduates per year who study abroad on an AIFS program. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates with a GPA of at least a 3.0.

SIT matches grants to recipients of the US Federal Pell Grant funding when Pell Grants are being used toward SIT programs. Candidates must be full-time undergraduates pursuing the SIT France: Language, Community, and Social Change program, anintensive language program using language immersion to promote French fluency.

The Gilman Scholarship Program provides awards for recipients of the US Federal Pell Grant funding to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. It is open for all U.S citizen undergraduates in good academic standing who will be studying abroad for at least four weeks in one country. Programs going to more than one country are eligible if the student will be studying in one country for at least four consecutive weeks. The study abroad program must be eligible for credit by the student's accredited institution of higher education in the U.S.

Key Dates: Application deadline: If your program starts between July 15 and October 15, apply for the Fall program application. If your program starts between December 15 and April 15, apply for the Spring program application. Currently, the Spring 2015 program deadline is October 7, 2014.

The AUF’s Intensive Courses Program provides American undergraduates the opportunity to take a wide range of classes at the University of Avignon in France for 1 academic year. Candidates must have completed secondary studies.
