About the IREU program outside the U.S.

U.S. chemical and materials science students may apply for a summer research opportunity in Germany, Italy, Singapore, and the United Kingdom through the ACS International Research Experiences for Undergraduates (IREU) program. In total, 17 U.S. students will be chosen to receive this award in summer 2014. In addition to the $4,000 stipend and airfare/housing compensation, the selected students will each receive an orientation session in Washington DC, a trip to the 2015 ACS National Meeting in Denver, Colorado, language training, medical insurance, and more, totaling a value of over $10,000. Interested students are encouraged to learn more about the IREU program's eligibility, financials, and expectations.

Please note that the application process for the projects in Germany varies from the process for the projects in Italy, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. The latter three countries use a common application while the initial stage of the application process for Germany is managed by the DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) program.

U.S. students interested in all listed nations may as a result submit an application for both the awards to Germany and a single combined application for Italy, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
