IUPAC Young Observer Program

The IUPAC Young Observer Program is a short-term travel grant designed to foster interactions with internationally acclaimed scientists in various fields; the IUPAC Young Observer Program strives to introduce the work of IUPAC to a new generation of distinguished researchers and to provide them with an opportunity to address international scientific policy issues. The USNC sends U.S. Observers (citizens or permanent residents) under the age of 45 from industry, academia, and national laboratories to the IUPAC World Chemistry Congress and General Assembly, held every two years.

Agencies Involved: U.S. National Committee (USNC) for IUPAC 

Key Dates: The U.S. National Committee for IUPAC will send Young Observers to the 44th IUPAC World Chemistry Congress and 47th IUPAC General Assembly, on August 8-16, 2013, in Istanbul, Turkey.


Yunus Emre Turkish Language Scholarship

The Yunus Emre Turkish Language Scholarship is awarded to students looking to study Turkish abroad. Candidates must be enrolled in a study program at the level for which they are applying to study in Turkey. Undergraduate applicants must be no older than 22 years old at the time of applying, graduate applicants must be no older than 31 years old at the time of applying, and post-doctoral applicants must be no older than 36 years old at the time of applying, and professional applicants must be no older than 46 years old at the time of applying.

Ali Kuşçu Science And Technology Graduate And Research Scholarship

The Ali Kuşçu Science And Technology Graduate And Research Scholarship is open to graduate and post-doctoral students from abroad wishing to conduct research in Turkey. Graduate applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, be enrolled in a graduate program, and be no older than 31 years old at the time of applying. Post-doctoral applicants must possess a PhD and be no older than 36 years old at the time of applying. Professional applicants must be no older than 46 at the time of applying.

Visiting Scientists Fellowship Programme

The Visiting Scientists Fellowship Programme allows prospective scientists to work at universities and research institutions in Turkey while attending seminars, giving lectures, and improving technological innovation. Applications are to be submitted by host scientists/institution.
