Graduate Student Exchange Programs in the United Kingdom
The NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program assists post-graduate students in the pursuit of careers in biomedical research. Published candidates with substantial research experience are preferred.

The Summer Comparative Public Health Systems program allows those seeking master’s degrees in public health to explore the issue by way of field work in Amsterdam and London. Focus of study can range from topics like euthanasia to senior health care. This year’s program runs 7 weeks from June 3-July20, 2013. Program credits can substantiate 4.5 undergraduate quarter hours. Candidates must maintain an average GPA of at least 2.75 on a 5.0 scale.

Scholarships for Graduate Students
Marshall Scholarships are given to assist graduate students in 4-year study programs at any of the given UK institutions listed by the organization.

Alistair Cooke Award is awarded to a student seeking master’s degree in Journalism wishing to complete studies toward that degree in the UK. Internships with the BBC are possible for successful graduate student candidates.

Academic Awards to Women for Doctoral Research
The BFWG Academic Award is given to female scientists in the 3rd year of doctoral studies in order to assist with enrichment academic study in the UK. Candidates must be female, and must have accepted enrollment in a graduate student doctoral program.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is a full-cost scholarship awarded to scientists pursuing post-graduate studies at the University of Cambridge in England.

Key dates: Applications for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship for October 2015 entry will be open on September 1, 2014. The deadlines will be: Round 1 (US citizens based in the USA) October 15, 2014; Round 2 (all other eligible candidates) December 3, 2014.
The esteemed Rhodes Scholarship is a full-cost awarded to American students looking to pursue post-graduate studies at Oxford University in England. Length of program is determined by the scholar and is usually 2-3 years.

Key dates: The annual application deadline is 11:59 PM US Eastern Standard Time on the first Wednesday of October.
The Churchill Scholarship is a full-cost scholarship allowing post-graduate students to pursue studies overseas at local institutions. Program runs for 9-12 months. Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree at one of the foundation-approved institutions, and must not (yet) have received a doctorate. Candidates must be between 19-26 years of age upon application.
