International Research Experience for Undergraduates (IREU)
This program allows U.S. undergraduates to apply for paid summer research internships at universities around Germany, and in specific universities in Singapore, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Students from Germany and our partner universities are eligible to apply for paid summer research experiences at sites around the United States.
Fulbright Scholar Programs and Grants
The Fulbright Scholar Program, administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CISE), offers a unique opportunity for American scholars to conduct research, lecture and attend seminars overseas. Several programs exist for U.S. and non-U.S. scholars, alumni and institutions.
Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE)
Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD), the German Academic Exchange Service, pairs undergraduates with German Ph.D. students and gives them the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects at some of the top research institutions (e.g. Max-Planck-Institutes) and universities in Germany. This unique mentoring partnership ensures immediate integration into the work in the lab, a built-in social network, and an excellent opportunity to develop new technical skills. Reports from past participants as well as detailed project descriptions and application materials in English and German are available online.
