About the ACS Member Insurance Program
The ACS Member Insurance Program uses the power of group purchasing to give ACS members substantial savings on insurance premiums. Also, as a member of the ACS, your coverage is portable, staying with you even if you change jobs, as long as the group policy remains in effect, you pay your premiums when due and maintain your ACS membership.
Since its establishment in 1966, the ACS Member Insurance Program helps members achieve their personal and professional goals. It is overseen by a nine-member Board of Trustees whose mission is: To provide insurance and other kinds of financial security programs for the benefit of the members of the American Chemical Society.
ACS members serving on the Board of Trustees, Group Insurance Plans for ACS Members are entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the Program and ensuring the financial stability of the Trust. Eight Trustees are appointed by the Chair of the ACS Board of Directors and serve a three-year term. The other Trustee is a representative from the Council Committee on Membership Affairs.
