Biography: Chaya Pooput
In 2000, Chaya Pooput obtained his MSc degree in polymers and organic chemistry at the Superior National School of Chemistry (Montpellier, France). He then pursued a PhD in fluorine and organic chemistry at the University of Florida (Gainesville).
After receiving his doctorate in 2005, Pooput joined the bio-organic chemistry laboratory at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, MD) as a postdoctoral visiting fellow, conducting research in various drug discovery projects.
In 2011, Pooput became a research fellow in the biochemistry department at the Georgetown University Medical Center (Washington, DC), where he studies drug resistance in malaria parasites.
