Biography: Sally Peng Li

Sally Peng Li began her service for Noteworthy Chemistry in January 2006 and has informed readers about innovative ideas in a wide range of chemistry fields, including:

  • analytical chemistry
  • biochemistry
  • inorganic chemistry
  • organic chemistry
  • physical chemistry
  • polymers
  • materials

Li earned her Ph.D. in 2002 from Peking University (Beijing) and now is a research assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Temple University (Philadelphia). Her research focus is on living radical polymerization; she is currently working on cobalt-mediated radical polymerization of vinyl monomers. She is enthusiastic about applying precision polymer synthesis to the formation of useful materials. She is also interested in designing catalysts that contain transition metals, such as copper, nickel, and cobalt. She has many publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
