In addition to serving for 12 years as a senior scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council, Dr. Solomon is Director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency Program at the University of California at San Francisco, where she is also Associate Director of the Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. Her work has included dozens of scientific papers, book chapters, and reports on air pollution, pesticides, global warming, and other environmental and occupational threats to health. Dr. Solomon serves on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board Drinking Water Committee, the National Toxicology Program Board of Scientific Counselors, and the California Scientific Guidance Panel on biomonitoring. After completing medical school at Yale University, Dr. Solomon did her postgraduate training in internal medicine, public health, and occupational and environmental medicine at Harvard University.
