Addressing “Global challenges” at ACS National Meeting in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — The American Chemical Society (ACS) is committed to enlisting the world’s scientists to address the major challenges facing humanity during the 21st Century. In carrying out that commitment, ACS is sponsoring symposia at its national meetings and has launched a major series of podcasts, Global Challenges/Chemistry Solutions.

Some of the relevant symposia are listed below. The Global Challenges podcasts are available without charge for listening on computers and downloading to portable audio devices at iTunes and other podcasting sites. The podcasts also can be accessed on ACS’s Global Challenges Web site (www.acs.org/globalchallenges). The site provides audio links and full transcripts of each podcast. Additional resources on each Global Challenges topic also are available, on the site, including information for consumers, students, and teachers.
