PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 19, 2012 — With 8,600 presentations on tap here this week at the 244^th National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the ACS Office of Public Affairs could publicize only a small fraction of the newsworthy reports in press releases and press conferences. That leaves a treasure trove of potential topics for breaking news, features and background on the program for this meeting of the world’s largest scientific society.

A portfolio of additional topics, selected for potential news value by organizers of the program and science writers in ACS Public Affairs, is available. Each entry consists of the presentation title, a summary and contact information for the presenter. A search tool on the online program will provide time, location and other details of individual presentations.
