Join ACS on Thursday August 5th at 12pm, ET for our special monthly themed Virtual Office Hour, where ACS Career Consultants offer their advice and expertise on specific career-related topics.
This FREE virtual career guidance session will feature real-world advice about how to decide which degree is right for you from ACS certified Career Consultants Joe Moore and Heinz Plaumann, as well as Susan Hartmann, from the ACS St. Louis Local Section. You will also have the chance to get personalized career advice and network in small groups lead by ACS Career Consultants.
This event is free and open to ACS members and non-members, but you must register to save your seat.
Themed ACS Virtual Office Hours with ACS Career Consultants are held the first Thursday of every month, at 12pm, ET.

Meet the Panelists

Joe Moore, Ph.D.
ACS Career Consultant | Panelist
Joseph (Joe) Moore is a global New Business Development Manager at IFF Microbial Control based in Wilmington, DE. Joe is responsible for evaluating business opportunities in new and adjacent industrial materials preservation markets. Previously, he spent 6 years in customer-centric applications and technical service roles.
Joe holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison where he designed and synthesized chemical tools to influence bacterial communication. He is the author of over 10 scientific publications in academic and industrial journals and has presented at chemistry, bacteriology, and industry conferences across North America.

Heinz Plaumann, Ph.D.
ACS Career Consultant | Panelist
Dr. Heinz Plaumann is an Executive Coach and Trainer, running many career planning, time effectiveness and communication workshops. He holds degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and draws on over 30 years of global industrial experience mostly in business and technical leadership. He is also an adjunct professor at several universities and the co-founder of www.quantumqik.com.

Susan Hartmann, M.B.A.
Panelist
Susan (Suzy) Hartmann is a graduate of Saint Louis University, where she earned a BA in Chemistry; Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where she earned an MS in Organic Chemistry; and the Richard Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University, where she earned an MBA with a focus on Management and Entrepreneurship.
A self-proclaimed “practitioner of transformation,” Suzy spent over a decade in pharmaceutical R&D with Monsanto, Pharmacia, and Pfizer. In 2011, after earning her MBA, Suzy transitioned into higher education and joined the Richard Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University, first as Associate Director, then as Assistant Dean of Graduate Business Programs. She was also Head of Serum and Media Sourcing at MilliporeSigma, where she led a global team responsible for the sourcing of raw materials for enzyme and antibody production. A Gallup-Certified Strengths coach, she is currently “Chief Velocity Officer” of her own coaching and consulting company, Elemental Strengths Additionally, she teaches Management and Leadership courses at the Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University, and serves as Executive Director of MEDLaunch, the university’s student-run healthcare startup incubator program.
