Manali Ghosh is the Senior Academic Recruiter at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She actively identifies and helps recruit talented scientists to academic positions in St. Jude by traveling to conferences, organizing recruiting events, and sourcing talent online. She works with faculty, students, and administrators to create and sustain pipelines for talent acquisition and retention at St. Jude. She also strongly advocates exploring careers beyond academia for all PhD holders.
Prior to this, she was the Global STEM Operations Director for WINStep Forward (WSF), a scientific US non-profit. She worked on building stronger collaborative ties between the Indian and the U.S. STEM fields, creating STEM-based virtual learning content and establishing and running new educational and training programs and events.
Manali obtained her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2019 and then trained as a postdoctoral scholar at Purdue University until January 2021. She is a trained structural biophysicist and worked on advancing solid-state NMR and cryo-EM techniques to probe biomolecules in the field of neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Manali lives in Southern California with her husband. She enjoys baking, pursuing historical mysteries, and nature travel in her free time.
