CPRC - Local Section Public Relations Activities
Local Section Public Relations
Help put chemistry in the headlines. Publicity for your section can produce pride among your members. Positive news stories about chemistry and your members can improve public appreciation for our profession. That’s where Local Section Public Relations activities can make a big difference in your section’s visibility to the community. Visit the LSPR website to learn how you can be involved in local section public relations.
American Chemical Society PR Guidebook
The American Chemical Society tagline, Chemistry for LifeTM, reflects the importance of our science to all people. To help communicate to the public the significance and relevance of what we do, it’s important that we speak with one voice. The American Chemical Society PR Guidebook, your guide to local section public relations activities, is intended to help you and your section do that and in the process, to put a human face on chemistry.
Local Section Public Relations Awards
Local sections have the opportunity to self-nominate in two Local Section Public Relations award categories: Outstanding Continuing Public Relations Program and Best New Public Relations Program. LSPR Chairs and Local Section Chairs should plan in advance to submit award nominations via the submission of their section’s annual report. The awards submissions are judged by the Awards Sub-Committee of the CPRC and are presented annually at the fall ACS National Meeting during the ChemLuminary Awards event.
