2017 Global Outlook: Chemistry and the Economy
Thursday, December 8, 2016 @ 2:00pm ET
This year will be noted for a paradigm shift in how major governments view trade. In Europe, the United Kingdom voted to remove itself from the E.U. and a similar sentiment is being expressed in other member countries. In the U.S., President-Elect Donald Trump has set the following agenda for his first 100 days in office: renegotiate or withdraw from NAFTA, withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and label China as a currency manipulator. Join us as Paul Hodges and Bill Carroll return to take stock of the major events in 2016 and share their thoughts on how this will affect the chemical industry and the economy.
What You Will Learn
- How “protectionism” may step in to replace “globalization”
- Supply-driven strategies are dead and need to be replaced by demand-led strategies
- The importance of “scenarios planning” in these times of change
