Understanding the Scientific and Medical Aspects of the Pandemic

ACS Webinars

Understanding SARS-CoV-2, therapeutic responses, and public monitoring strategies from scientific and medical perspectives is central to establishing and pursuing the most effective policies in response to this global challenge. Our success in containing and ending this threat depends heavily on our ability to manage resources to rapidly develop and deploy field ready test kits and innovative treatment for both active disease management and vaccination. Ensuring all jurisdictions can limit outbreak spread requires national level planning to coordinate and support both public and private biomedical research priorities.

Join Peter Hotez of Baylor University and Jonathan Lai of Albert Einstein College of Medicine as they discuss the scientific aspects of the current pandemic, as well as lessons learned from previous outbreaks to help policymakers develop better approaches to the current and future threats.
