Dr. Mansoor Amiji received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy from Northeastern University in 1988 and his PhD in pharmaceutics from Purdue University in 1992. His current research focuses on development of biocompatible materials from natural and synthetic polymers, target-specific drug and gene delivery systems, and nanotechnology applications for medical diagnosis, imaging, and therapy.
Dr. Amiji’s lab has received over $20 million in sustained extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), private foundations, and industries. He has edited 8 books, over 60 book chapters, and over 300 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Amiji has many awards including the AAPS and CRS Fellowships, CRS Nagai Award, and NSTI Award for Outstanding Constitutions in Micro- and Nano-technology.
