Erika Vieira Araujo
Erika Vieira Araujo graduated from Fairfield University in Connecticut in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. She then moved to Boston College where she received her doctoral education and joined the laboratory of Professor Amir Hoveyda. She received her Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 2013 after having made contributions to the area of enantioselective catalysis. Alongside her studies she developed an interest in drug development so she then pursued a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Erika joined the Oncology Chemistry Department at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a medicinal chemist where she has worked on several programs seeking to identify small molecule therapies for the treatment of cancer.
