Leah Askarinam is the editor in chief of the Hotline at National Journal. She previously covered congressional,
gubernatorial, and presidential races at Inside Elections with Nathan Gonzales as a reporter and analyst. She also served
as a political consultant for CBS News during the 2018 midterms and as a contributor to FiveThirtyEight, providing
analysis on the 2018 primary and special elections. Leah worked with Ronald Brownstein at The Atlantic during the 2016
election. She started her career in education as a middle school English teacher with Teach for America outside of New Orleans.
