Christopher Boyce, Ph.D, has 17 years of pharma experience in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical groups at Merck Research Laboratories and the Schering-Plough Research Institute, where he has supported various respiratory, cardiovascular, anti-infective and neuroscience programs. He currently works in Merck’s Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences group, where he performs physicochemical characterization and formulation optimization of lead discovery compounds.
Dr. Boyce’s interest in community and global volunteerism has led to current pursuits on several Merck NTD discovery teams addressing tuberculosis, malaria, viral, and parasitic infection. He is an ACS and AAPS member and is active in the AAPS Pharmaceuticals in Global Health Focus Group (Steering Committee). Dr. Boyce obtained a B.S. in chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Scripps Research Institute in the laboratory of Prof. Dale Boger.
