Eric Breitung

Eric Breitung earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1999.  He then researched thin films and coatings at General Electric’s Global Research Center for 10 years before becoming an art conservation scientist at the Smithsonian Institution and Library of Congress.  He is now at the Metropolitan Museum of art, where he focuses on advanced coatings and preventive conservation
