Mary K. Carroll

Mary K. Carroll is the Dwane W. Crichton Professor of Chemistry at Union College (Schenectady, NY).  She teaches courses in general chemistry, analytical chemistry, and chemical instrumentation, as well as courses for non-science majors.  Since 2002, Mary Carroll has co-directed the Union College Aerogel Laboratory, a vibrant interdisciplinary research group of undergraduate students and faculty members.  In addition, she serves as Chief Science Officer of Sunthru LLC, a company she co-founded to commercialize aerogel window technology. A Councilor of the Eastern New York ACS section since 1998, Mary Carroll has served and held leadership roles on numerous ACS national committees, working groups and task forces. Among other honors, Mary Carroll was recognized as an ACS Fellow in 2016.
