Carol A. Duane is President of D&D Consultants of Mentor, a business development and management consulting company, established in 2002, specializing in strategic planning, marketing, and building collaborations. D&D achieves results and finds innovative solutions.
Carol earned her B.A. in chemistry from the University of Washington, an M.S. in physical organic chemistry from The Ohio State University and completed PhD. coursework in biochemistry at the University of Illinois. Her honors included Phi Beta Kappa and Iota Sigma Pi.
She is an Emeritus member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and was recognized with the national ACS Volunteer Service Award (2018), the Northeastern Ohio local section Volunteer Award (2015), the ACS Shirley B. Radding Award for volunteer service in ACS (2011) and was named a Fellow of the American Chemical Society (2010).
Her volunteer service in ACS spans more than thirty years and includes contributions and leadership in all sectors of the Society, including: NEO local section councilor; chair of CINF and BMGT; leadership of the ConC and N&E elected committees; and chair/co-chair of the Board Oversight Group on Leadership Development and the Leadership Advisory Board.
