Ken Fivizzani retired in 2009 as a Research Scientist and Chemical Hygiene Officer at Nalco Company following a twenty-six year career. He has BS and MS degrees in chemistry from Loyola University Chicago and a PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was the 2000, 2011, and 2014 Chair of the Division of Chemical Health and Safety. He is a past Chair (2002-04) and past member (2002-10) of the Committee on Chemical Safety. He is an ACS Fellow. He served on the National Academies’ Committee that prepared the updated Prudent Practices in the Laboratory: Handling and Management of Chemical Hazards (2011). He serves on the Board of Editors of The Journal of Chemical Health and Safety and writes columns for The Last Word in that journal.
