Dave Horton graduated from the University of Calgary with degrees in Chemistry and Applied Mathematics. Over the last thirty years, Dave has worked in the oilfield chemical industry in production treating chemicals, drilling fluid additives, fracturing fluid additives and stimulation chemicals. Dave has held various positions in his career, starting as an analytical chemist advancing to a research chemist, international technical services agent, technical services manager, vice president technology and most recently Chief Technology Officer at CES Energy Solutions. Dave holds over a dozen US Patents on a variety of oilfield chemical technologies included production chemical treating, drilling fluid additives, fracturing fluid additives covering a diverse range of subjects including analytical techniques, compositions, methods of use and synthetic methods. CES Energy Solutions joined the ACS GCI Oilfield chemistry Roundtable (former ACS GCI Hydraulic Fracturing Roundtable) in 2017 and Dave became the co-chair of the Roundtable in 2020.
