Alexander Kapustin is an Associate Principal Scientist in the Advanced Drug Delivery team at AstraZeneca in Cambridge, UK. Before joining AstraZeneca, Alexander was an associate lecturer at King’s College London. His scientific interests were focused on understanding the role of exosomes in blood vasculature mineralization. His discovery around the role of exosomes in mineralization initiation was published in the leading AHA journal, Circulation Research and was one of the Top 10 most downloaded Circ Res papers in 2015.
Dr. Kapustin is an author for several scientific papers on extracellular vesicles that have been published in top journals including the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles, Circulation Research, ATVB and Nature Cell Biology. He also co-authored a patent on an exosome-based vascular calcification test. Alexander has been presenting his results at the annual meetings of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles since 2012. He also organized an international EV workshop funded by British Council in 2015 to share advances in the EVs field with early career researchers.
