Dr. Frederick Meadows earned a B.S. in chemistry from North Carolina A & T State University and his Ph.D in analytical chemistry from Georgia State University.
After graduate school, Dr. Meadows was selected for a one-year post-doctoral Research Chemist position at the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service-Quality Assessment Research Unit (USDA-ARS-QARU) where he structurally and chemically characterized natural products and developed spectroscopic techniques for non-invasively predicting compositional and rheological properties. In the three years following his post-doctoral research, he worked at the USDA-ARS-QARU, Shire Laboratories, and Altea Therapeutics. He then joined Ciba Vision/Novartis (now Alcon) where he worked in management in the research and development of contact lens and lens care products. During this time, he developed and instructed two courses, Fundamentals of Biomanufacturing and Validation, Documentation and Quality Assurance at Atlanta Technical College. In 2013, he founded Valiant Youth Academy, a K-12 STEM education organization which was later sold in 2017. Starting in 2014, he joined the North American R&D Analytical Group at Kemira Chemicals as a manager where he led the development of polymers and a myriad of chemistries for applications in pulp, paper and petroleum. In 2018, he became the Senior Manager of Oil and Gas Research and Development for North America.
