Dr. Kali Miller is a development editor in the Publications Division at the American Chemical Society, where she is responsible for the day-to-day management of Organic Process Research & Development and ACS Chemical Health & Safety. As an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, Kali received her PhD in materials chemistry in 2019 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Prof. Paul Braun's research group on the synthesis and kinetic processes in designed polymers. Her bachelor's degree was also received from Illinois in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Steven Zimmerman on the rational design and synthesis of ligands as potential therapeutic agents for myotonic dystrophy type 1. Kali has been involved in volunteering with ACS throughout her professional career, including positions as the Illinois Undergraduate ACS Student Chapter President, East Central Illinois Local ACS Section Chair, ACS Committee on Chemical Safety Associate Member, and Division of Chemical Health and Safety Government Relations Chair.
