Dr. Valerie Patrick, President of Fulcrum Connection LLC, is a team consultant, trainer, and professional speaker dedicated to helping technical organizations and professionals increase their impact.
Dr. Patrick has 25 years of corporate experience leading technical and strategic initiatives to identify and deliver new sources of organizational value at Bayer and Monsanto. Most recently, she served 4 years as the first Sustainability Coordinator/Strategist for Bayer North America (BNA). In that role, she launched BNA’s first sustainability report, BNA’s first GHG emission reduction commitment, and an employee sustainability thinking education program that reduced environmental impacts while providing millions of dollars in business impact. She also served as inaugural Chairperson of the Board for the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) and now serves on the ACCO Advisory Board. As chairperson, she led the creation of ACCO’s core competencies (https://accoonline.org/core-competencies/). She has also provided content and training for ACCO’s ensuing credentialing program.
Dr. Patrick is a trained chemical engineer (B.S. Bucknell University and M.S., PhD. California Institute of Technology) who spent 25 years in the corporate world and then founded Fulcrum Connection LLC in 2013. Dr. Patrick advanced from an entry-level technical position to research management within 5 years at Monsanto Plastics. Monsanto Plastics’ business was acquired by Bayer in 1996 where Dr. Patrick worked on a wide variety of strategic initiatives of increasing organizational scope until her last position of reporting to the CEO for Bayer’s North America operations as Head of Sustainability.
