Glenn Ruskin joined the American Chemical Society in May 2005. As OPA Director he leads the ACS efforts to promote sound public policies that advance science and the chemistry enterprise with policy-makers as well as communication efforts designed to increase public awareness and appreciation of chemistry’s critical role in addressing society’s most pressing issues.
He has nearly 30 years senior management experience in both the public and private sector and has broad-based experience in government affairs, public relations, corporate communications, media relations, litigation/crisis communications and environmental affairs.
His private sector experience has largely been focused in the chemical manufacturing sector. Earlier in his career, he worked on Capitol Hill for a New Jersey Congressman and prior to that for a small New Jersey urban city where he was responsible for urban, economic, transportation and residential development.
Ruskin received his B.A. degree from Drew University and his Masters of Science in Administration from The George Washington University.
