Scott Trzaska received a bachelors degree in chemistry from Ursinus College. Scott obtained his PhD in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania while conducting research on the synthesis and characterization of thermotropic liquid crystalline materials under the direction of Timothy Swager. He then conducted his post-doctoral research on the design of crystalline-amorphous block copolymers under the direction of Richard Register in the department of chemical engineering at Princeton University. Scott has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than twelve years with his research focusing on salt and form screening as well as solid-state characterization. His scientific interests are in characterization and understanding the phase transformations of materials as well as studying the relationships between molecular structure and bulk physical properties.
