Alyson Weidmann

Alyson was born and raised in New York City and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Columbia University in 2010. In 2015, she received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology under Professor Jackie Barton, studying organometallic DNA intercalators as chemotherapeutics. Following a postdoctoral fellowship in Eric Kool’s lab at Stanford, she joined ACS as a Managing Editor for ACS Chemical Biology, ACS Chemical Neuroscience, and Biochemistry in 2016. She currently lives in Northern Virginia, and her hobbies include weightlifting, cooking, programming, and spoiling her cat.
