What do you love about your job?
I love figuring out the best way to get them to learn by incorporating new technologies and teaching methods in the classroom and lab.  I enjoy working in team settings, which can be difficult to find in teaching, so I love all of the opportunities I have to co-teach classes.  I love providing career counseling services to my students!

On a personal note, being a lecturer affords me time to be a full-time mom and a full-time professor at this stage in my life.  Although it's tough during the academic year, I truly enjoy being there as my kids grow up over the holidays and summer.  Also, the university is family-friendly and I like taking my kids to the student- and university-organized holiday activities and lots of department events.

What career advice would you give your 18 year old self?
You probably aren't going to end up being a professional student, so do some deep digging to figure out the job you actually want.  You probably around going to be handed a job, so stop thinking someone will give you a job doing "anything".

What is your dream vacation?
My dream vacation is waiting for me in retirement when I take a cruise around the world, perhaps spending a little extra time in Hawaii!

If you had to wear a t-shirt with one word on it for one year, what word would you choose?
RELAX

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

Languages (both spoken and programming)
