What do you love about your job?
The students in my classes range from 12 (!) to 70. It is great working with students of all ages and experiences. My colleagues are great and help me learn more about my discipline and the craft of teaching every single day.
What career advice would you give your 18 year old self?
Don’t focus on a specific job or career as you work through college. The job you have in ten years WILL use new skills you will develop between now and then. Spend your college years learning how to learn.
What is your dream vacation?
I love traveling in Europe. The sites and sounds are phenomenal. Food is something to be savored. I often ask the server to order for me and have never been disappointed.
If you had to wear a t-shirt with one word on it for one year, what word would you choose?
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Listening. I learn more when I take the time to listen to people.
Ask me about:
Getting your first “real” job, thriving after being “let go”, using your chemistry degree in “other” areas, and teaching at any level.
