What do you love about your job?
I am loving my time in graduate school. It's, of course, challenging but I have amazed myself with how much I've learned. Teaching has been an incredible part of graduate school and meeting students who are going through struggles that I was only a short time ago has been an eye opening experience. There is nothing quite like watching others succeed and knowing you were able to help them through those challenges.

What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
Research is always an exciting event. It has its frustrations, but I love the days when I collect data that begins a week-long pondering. But finally, when I'm able to solve the puzzle, I am super excited about my revelations!

What would you tell yourself at age 18?
I would tell my former self to worry less and take life in stride. Both extreme joy and tough challenges will come your way, and you will get through both in due time.

How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
ACS Scholars is the reason I am where I am today. Before ACS Scholars, I was struggling through stress and burden. I worked two part time jobs, one full time job, and full time academics. I struggled through the death of my father and temporary housing. ACS Scholars financially helped me obtain the beautiful life I have today as a college graduate, wife, homeowner, and mother to three beautiful fur babies.
