What do you love about your job?
I became a chemical engineer because I wanted to tackle the world's most challenging energy problems and I knew a ChemE degree would equip me with the tools necessary to make an impact. I became an academic because I wanted the opportunity to educate and inspire the next generation of engineers as well the freedom to pursue the scientific questions that interested me.
What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
Participating in the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR), which is a DOE Energy Innovation Hub focused on developing transformative battery technology for transportation and the electric grid. As a young researcher in JCESR, I not only had the opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy science, but also to collaborate with and learn from some of the leading minds of industry, government laboratories, and academia.
