What do you love about your job?
I love working with talented and inspiring young scientists and scholars who will be the future of academia and industry. Through my work, I am able to help diverse students pursue the PhD, which is changing the face of what it looks like to be a scientist and scholar. #diversitymatters

What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?

What would you tell yourself at age 18?
Apply to be an ACS Scholar sooner! I didn't apply until my sophomore year and wish I could have been part of the program earlier in my undergraduate career. I would also encourage my 18-year-old-self to stick with what you love and find your passion. This advice has helped me on my journey to the PhD and the incredibly important diversity and inclusion work that I do.

How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
Absolutely! Being selected as an ACS Scholar was the first time that I had national recognition and validation as a scientist. As a woman of color (Latina), this was so important on my journey from SWOSU (a regional state college) to the PhD at Harvard.
