Virtual Academic Leadership Workshop Experience
COVID-19 Impact on the Academic Leadership Training Workshop: Safety is a core value of the American Chemical Society. The health and well-being of our members, community, and staff are paramount. We will not be able to hold an in-person Academic Leadership Training Workshop in 2021, but are pleased to offer the virtual event described below.
We are pleased to announce that we will conduct a one-day Virtual Academic Leadership Training Workshop Experience on February 22, 2021.
The objective of the Academic Leadership Training Workshop is to train the next generation of academic leaders by providing them with tools, connections and skills to be successful in advancing the teacher-scholar model among their faculties and colleagues. In this context, academic leaders are persons holding positions such as research center director, department chair, college dean, provost, etc.
This year, we will offer a no-cost, online event that is open to faculty who are interested in learning about and pursuing leadership opportunities in higher education. Participants will engage with current academic leaders to discuss topics including ‘why you should become an academic leader’ and ‘managing the challenges of our time in 2021’.
Chemistry faculty will receive priority acceptance to attend this online event, but faculty from other physical science disciplines will be considered as space permits. Past Academic Leadership Workshop attendees are also invited to attend.
Applications are no longer being accepted. If you are interested in attending, please contact Dr. Ashley Donovan (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will do our best to accommodate your request if space becomes available.
