Next Generation Science Standards and ChemCom
The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are K–12 science content standards. Standards set the expectations for what students should know and be able to do. The NGSS were developed by states to improve science education for all students.
A goal for developing the NGSS was to create a set of research-based, up-to-date K–12 science standards. These standards give local educators the flexibility to design classroom learning experiences that stimulate students’ interests in science and prepares them for college, careers, and citizenship.

Teaching Resources and Support Materials
Teacher's Edition
The teacher's edition offers point-of-use support for teaching students with different ability levels and learning styles. The teacher's edition lists all materials and procedures for preparation of the laboratory activities. In addition, you will find all background material, supplemental activities, answers to problems, objectives for each unit, and explanations of how ChemCom meets the National Science Standards.
ChemCom on CD
The CD offers a variety of interactive student features, plus a dynamic Periodic Table, calculator, and other useful electronic chemistry tools.
ChemCom Activities Workbook
The activities book provides teachers with a collection of handouts for the activities in the text, supplementary problem sets, and assessment ideas. It was created by teachers, at the request of teachers, to preclude the potential damage to the text in the laboratory, minimize student laboratory preparation time, and maximize laboratory table space for equipment and lab paperwork. Additionally, this resource was designed for teachers to meet standards, student needs, and school expectations beyond those presented in the text.
Test Bank
The test bank contains hundreds of multiple choice and short answer questions. The CD contains offers an electronic version of the test bank in both Windows and Mac formats, and is designed to give teachers the option of adding, editing, and resequencing questions.
