Two positions available

Westlake Chemical

  • Internship Location — Sulphur, LA or Baton Rouge, LA
  • Preferred Course of Study — Chemical Engineering
  • Organizational Unit — Engineering
  • Internship Period — 10 weeks
  • Stipend/Salary — $8,000
  • Additional Support — $150/month housing stipend and up to $1,000 relocation expense
  • Eligibility
    • Current sophomore or junior
    • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
    • Minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0)
  • Additional Requirements
    • Candidate must have a reliable form of transportation. 
    • Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor's degree at a 4-year accredited university.

Internship Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on assigned projects with the close supervision of mentor/supervisor
  • Observe activities of the assigned department/unit
  • Assist mentor/supervisor in day-to-day tasks
  • Actively participate in safety/environmental programs
  • Maintain intern work/activity journal
  • Presentation to management team
