ACS Mentor Training Workshop for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars

Effective mentoring in the sciences is instrumental to inclusive excellence and critical for personal and professional growth.

The ACS Mentor Training Workshop for current and prospective mentors helps graduate students and postdoctoral scholars learn strategies for developing or improving mentoring skills to cultivate productive mentor-mentee relationships. In this interactive experience, participants will gain confidence in handling mentoring conversations and dilemmas, learn about resources for effective mentoring, and create a mentoring plan that can be readily implemented.

The ACS workshop is adapted from the CIMER Entering Mentoring Curriculum, an evidence-based, culturally responsive training designed for research mentors across career stages and disciplines.
