Harry W. Blunt Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: This scholarship award was established to encourage a student working towards a degree in a chemistry-related program at Delaware Technical Community College (Del Tech) to continue his/her education by recognizing scholarship and by making a significant contribution to the educational costs.

Eligibility: The award is given to a deserving full-time student for the second year of study in a chemistry-related program at Del Tech. The student is chosen on the basis of scholarship and financial need. The award was established in 1989 in memory of Harry W. Blunt, former Section Chair. Blunt, who was killed in automobile accident, had a philosophy of bettering oneself through education. It is funded by an endowment and by the Delaware Section. The student receives a certificate and an award of $750 applied to his/her tuition. An engraved plaque is on permanent display at DelTech.
