Northeast Regional Meeting Dr. Julianne M. D. Smist 10/25/13 Dr. Smist has Chaired the Northeast Region since before it incorporated over 7 years ago.  Early on, we barely made it from Regional Meeting to Regional Meeting with only a fund of $4,000.00 that would be passed on from meeting to meeting.  After incorporation, we put together formal bylaws and set forth a program to build up the Northeast Region's image and impact.  Under Dr. Smist's leadership, we now can sponsor three meetings at one time, support our own awards programs and seek out other options as to how we can better serve the Local Sections within the Northeast Region.
