in scholarship funds are awarded to 350 students annually
The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program.

*ACS Project SEED, a summer research program for high school juniors and seniors, is now celebrating its 50th anniversary. ACS Scholar Alumni with the logo are also Project SEED Alum. Visit the Project SEED website for more information about this program.
**ACS Scholar Committee members help to shape the long-term goals for the ACS Scholars Program and/or volunteer their time to review applications. The committee is comprised of various professionals from industry, government, academia and more. If you are passionate about the ACS Scholars Program and interested in volunteering on one of the committees, please let us know.
Over 280 Scholar Alumni have completed a Ph.D. program. Of those, more than 35 have joined university faculty.
Over 50% of ACS Scholar Alumni chose to pursue advanced degrees, and half of those have completed or in progress towards a doctoral degree.
90% of ACS Scholars earn baccalaureate degrees with 80% in the chemical sciences.
