ACS Scholars Program

Approximately $900,000 in scholarship funds are awarded to 350 students annually.

The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program.

*Number of awards and award amounts are determined by school year, demonstrated financial need, and available funding.

More than 300 Scholar Alumni have completed a Ph.D. program. Of those, more than 45 have joined university faculty.

More than 50% of ACS Scholar Alumni chose to pursue advanced degrees, and half of those have completed or in progress towards a doctoral degree.

90% of ACS Scholars earn baccalaureate degrees with 80% in the chemical sciences.
